The Geneva-based NGO Group for the Convention on the Rights of the Child is a coalition of international non-governmental organisations, which work together to facilitate the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. It was formed in 1983 by NGOs who were actively involved in the drafting of the Convention.
SOS Children's Villages has been a full member of the NGO Group since 2002 and actively participates in some of the various sub-groups, but most especially in the Working Group on Children without Parental Care, which was created to draft the United Nations guidelines on the protection of children without parental care.
