Partners

At SOS Children's Villages we strive to bring various partners together and collaborate with like-minded organisations at local national and international level. United to create synergies and maximise resources, our ultimate goal is to achieve the best result possible for children who are without parental care.

Internationally, we cooperate with UN agencies, the European Union and Council of Europe, as well as NGO networks regarding issues that have an impact on the rights and needs of the children we work with.

United Nations

SOS Children’s Villages International has been in "special consultative status" with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations (UN) since 1995. This status is granted to international NGOs that share common objectives with the UN and it allows us to make substantial contributions to UN work.

Council of Europe & European Union

Child rights and children in alternative care are both topics of priority for the European Union and the Council of Europe. SOS Children’s Villages works together with both organisations to help improve conditions for children and young people without parental care.

NGO Groups

Often the most effective way to achieve meaningful changes for children and young people is by partnering with like-minded organisations. SOS Children’s Villages International is a member of several NGO networks and coalitions. Additionally, many SOS Children's Villages associations take part in national NGO coalitions and networks on issues related to child care, child protection, child rights, welfare and development.
