More... The rapid increase of HIV/AIDS in the Central African Republic is a threat to children's lives in the country. As a result of the pandemic, 110,000 Central Africans have been orphaned and more than 6,000 vulnerable children live on the streets (UNICEF). In addition, poverty has left many vulnerable and has deprived them of their most basic rights. This situation has led SOS Children's Villages to try to restore the families' sense of dignity and strengthen their capabilities to earn a living.
