Handing over the cheque with representatives from SWISS and SOS Children's Villages
|
Coins and notes of all currencies have been collected on SWISS (and previously Swissair) flights since 1998, under the slogan "your small change can make a big change!" This money goes to support new SOS Children's Villages. There are already so-called SWISS houses in Monaragala (Sri Lanka) and Temirtau (Kazakhstan) and SWISS has been able to use donated money to finance a community house in SOS Holiday Camp Caldonazzo (near Trento in Italy). At the end of June 2004, two SWISS representatives presented SOS Children's Village President Helmut Kutin with a cheque for the renovation of the clinic at the camp. The opportunity was also taken at this event to extend the partnership between SWISS and SOS Children's Villages for another year.
Members of the SWISS TravelClub have also had the chance since September 2000 to donate collected air-miles to SOS Children's Villages. This means that SOS Children's Villages Associations can save money when flying on business trips.
