Within the context of the "Quality4Children" project on quality standards in out-of-home child care the first European "Quality4Children" Congress will soon take place. The schedule for the Congress held on June 1-2, 2005 in Gmunden/Austria has been fixed.
More then 80 presentations and workshops give an overview on the high-quality work with children and youths in out-of-home care in over 30 European countries! In addition to that the Congress in the setting of the Baroque city of Gmunden by the picturesque lake Traun affords the unique opportunities to establish contacts with specialists from all over Europe and build up networks with them.
In addition the programme includes numerous short reports and workshops on the topics of quality development in out-of-home care, children?s rights, participation and specific characteristics of the out-of-home care way of life. The congress organisers are particularly concerned with including the directly affected - the youths. For this reason the youths will, during a workshop, work out their ideas on quality criteria for out-of-home care and will then present the results to the congress participants.
