From 1 July to 24 August 1,350 children from 46 European SOS Children's Villages will show us the real meaning of multicultural: the children come from Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Finland, Poland, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Belarus and Austria. Together they can enjoy a carefree holiday by the lake with games, fun and action. They are accommodated, along with the many accompanying co-workers in 50 bungalows and more than 100 tents.
For SOS Children's Villages President Helmut Kutin, the SOS Holiday Village in Caldonazzo is a wonderful example for the peaceful coming-together of young people from different backgrounds: "children live here in a way that grown-ups often don't manage: they accept people of different nationality, culture and creed as they are and, without being judgemental, live together peacefully."

The first highlight of the 50 year celebrations is 19 July, when we expect luminaries at the great children's party and open day, including Princess Salimah Aga Khan, ambassador for SOS-Kinderdorf International, SOS Children's Village President Helmut Kutin and representatives of the SOS Children's Villages partners FIFA and Swiss Airlines.
Further highlights this year will be a percussion workshop with Bella Bello Bitugu from Ghana, a concert on 27 July with Austrian star DJ Ötzi as well as the first international Lake Caldonazzo Canoe Race on 30 and 31 July, organised by SOS Children's Village Worpswerde in Germany.
