The SOS Children's Village built in one year on the island of Chiloé is the furthest south in the world. The new project near the town of Ancud will consist of twelve family houses and a kindergarten. SOS Children's Village President Helmut Kutin will officially open the village in person and many representatives of the local authorities and the Chilean SOS Children's Village association are expected to attend. With Chiloé-Ancud there is now a total of 13 SOS Children's Villages in Chile; 20 other facilities including social centres, kindergartens and youth facilities offer additional support over a wide social spectrum.
