President Helmut Kutin received the highest civilian honour given to a person of foreign origin - "Knight Commander: The Most Admirable Order of the Direkgunabhorn" - from His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulayadej for the outstanding social work in Thailand. Princess Soamsawali as King's Royal Representative presented this Royal Thai Order to President Helmut Kutin during the opening ceremony in Chiang Rai.
