Children have a Say
Children and young people have the right to be listened to and to participate in all decisions affecting their lives. All too often, however, their involvement is limited, if considered at all. At SOS Children's Villages, we recognise the role children play in their own development. We work together with children and young people, their families and their communities to pinpoint problems and find solutions.

The International Youth Council of the "I Matter" Campaign
Young people with care experience have been involved in the "I Matter" Campaign since its initiation, both in national campaigns and on the international steering committee. As international activities begin to kick off, their participation has been taken to the next level.

An SOS from SOS Children's Villages France
On 19 November 2009, 200 school children from Paris sent out a strong message against the silence that often envelops the subject of children's rights. They shaped the letters SOS in front of the Eiffel Tower.

"I Can Change the World ... if the world listens to me!"
In October 2009, SOS Children's Village Manila hosted a first-of-its-kind 'Children Congress' to produce The State of the Filipino Children's Report. 119 young individuals, from SOS Children's Villages, schools, parishes, communities and organizations in the Philippines met for a two-day dialogue.

When it comes to making lasting changes in people's lives, it takes action to put written policy into practise. From 6 - 9 December 2008, young people from Europe and Central Asia came together to help SOS-Kinderdorf International and the Council of Europe (CoE) do just that.
