SOS Children's Village Plagiari is situated about 20 km east of Thessaloniki. The town of Plagiari is a friendly, continually growing community with about 2,000 inhabitants. The SOS Children's Village comprises the family houses, a community house and administration buildings. It even has its own amphitheatre. Two playgrounds and a sports field offer enough space and opportunity for the personal development of the children. As the SOS Children's Village can easily be reached by public means of transport, the children attend public schools and are well integrated into the community. An SOS Youth Facility offering accomodation for up to 20 young people opened its doors in the city of Thessaloniki in October 2004.
