The SOS Children's Village comprises 12 family houses, the house of the Village Director, offices and a community building. In San Lorenzo de El Escorial there are two public schools and a hospital. The youths from the SOS Children's Village are living in an SOS Youth House in Alcalá de Henares about 100 km from El Escorial. There they stay during their vocational training or higher education being prepared in that way to a life outside the SOS Children's Village.
