2016 Hermann Gmeiner Award

SOS co-workers and individuals who spent time in SOS care as children or young people had the chance to nominate an inspiring friend, colleague or family member. This year, over 100 nominations from 45 countries were received – all stories of inspiring individuals using their strengths and what they gained from SOS Children’s Villages to make a difference in their local community. The Hermann Gmeiner Academy Board selected eight finalists from which two winners were chosen by the public.

The winners of the Hermann Gmeiner Award for 2016 are: Daliborka Matanovic from Croatia and William Silva dos Santos from Brazil.
