SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation for the global federation of SOS Children’s Villages. As a non-governmental social development organisation we support children without parental care and families in difficult living conditions through services in care, education, health and emergency relief, and we advocate for the rights of children and young people, in alliance with a great diversity of partners. We work in 136 countries and territories, reaching over one million children, young people, families and caregivers each year. Project Assistant Intern (f/m)
30-38,5 hours/week – limited contract for 6 months

Location: International Office Innsbruck/Austria

Tasks and Responsibilities

Our contribution to the SOS Children’s Villages of tomorrow is to support and facilitate youth development in all our programmes with a special focus on bridging the digital divide and providing equitable access to technologies.
We network with internal and external partners on an international and regional level to keep up with youth and technology trends and drive innovative practices. As part of our team you will contribute as Project Assistant Intern for an international youth event, to be held in March 2020 in Greece by:

  • Assisting and supporting in the organisation of training for young people and staff
  • Providing logistical and administrative support for the event
  • Being the contact person with partner organisations
  • Supporting the project manager with planning and budgeting processes
  • Supporting participants with preparation and travel  + visa arrangements
  • Coordinating a group of young people shaping the concept of the event
  • Finished BA studies in non-profit management, business/event management, education or related areas
  • Good communication skills in English; Spanish or French an asset
  • Good writing abilities
  • Organisational and administrative experience an advantage
  • Excellent command of MS Office
  • Pro-active and independent style of working
  • Applicants must hold a valid Austrian working permit or be eligible to work within the EU
