System- and Support Engineer (f/m)

Location: International Office, Innsbruck/Austria

The Team of Network Services (NWS) ensures professional operation of ICT services and provides high-quality and quick assistance to our customers to ensure operational problems are resolved as fast as possible:

  • Maintenance and operation of backup infrastructure
  • Manage software distribution
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Provide first and second level support
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Tasks and responsibilities
  • Maintenance and operation of centralised software distribution system in the International Offices (IO) in Innsbruck and Vienna
  • Maintenance and operation of PC client hardware and software in the IO Innsbruck (install, configure, test and maintain operating systems and application software, roll-out)
  • Maintenance and operation of backup infrastructure IO Innsbruck and Vienna and within Microsoft Cloud
  • Write and maintain custom scripts
  • Provide first and second level support according NWS Service Catalogue and steer the 1st level NWS support team and Vienna Support Team (Incident Management)
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Project management
  • ICT Service documentation
  • Generate and analyse KPIs
  • Appropriate IT education in computer science, engineering or a related subject
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with customer support and IT system administration
  • Strong  coordination, organisation, teaming and communication abilities
  • Service minded thinking and actions
  • Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows based environments
  • Solid knowledge in the area of Windows 7/10 and MS Office 2016
  • Experience with centrally managed software distribution
  • Experience with virtualisation (Hyper-V)
  • Experience with monitoring systems
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
  • Willingness to extra work also outside regular working hours and standby
  • Good written and spoken German and English
