Räikkönen continues to support SOS Children's Villages

Räikkönen had already invited two children from this SOS Children's Village to be guests on his yacht during last year's Monaco Grand Prix. Back then, Räikkönen had given the children a very warm reception. A few months later, in November 2003, Räikkönen paid a visit to the SOS Children's Village in Tapiola during which he announced his wish to continue carrying out charity work for the children's welfare organisation.

In addition to providing SOS Children's Villages with a financial donation, Räikkönen once again invited two children in the organisation's care to be guests on his yacht during both Saturday's qualifying and Sunday's race. The children are 9-year-old Jami and 10-year-old Jenica.

"I'm looking forward to spending some memorable moments with the kids," said Räikkönen, who finished second in last year's edition of the Monaco race. "Supporting a worthy childcare organisation is very important for me."

This year, Räikkönen will financially support the work of SOS Children's Villages in both Finland and Latvia. Part of the donation will serve towards the building of Latvia's second SOS Children's Village, a project that will be completed in cooperation with the SOS Children's Villages from the Nordic countries. Mercedes Benz in Finland will also take part in this year's charity.
