Raikkonen invites children from SOS Children's Villages to Monaco Grand Prix
30/05/2003 - Two children from the Finnish SOS Children's Village in Tapiola will be guests on Kimi Raikkonen's yacht during the Monaco Grand Prix. The current leader of the Formula One World Championship standings is also supporting the work of SOS Children's Villages Finland with a financial donation.
Formula One World Championship leader Kimi Raikkonen has invited two kids from SOS Children's Village in Tapiola to this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix.
"It's nice to be in a position to give something back to a very worthy organisation for children," said Raikkonen, who is further supporting the work of SOS Children's Villages Finland with a financial donation. Raikkonen will also be visiting a village in Finland in the near future.
The children - eight-year-old Nico and nine-year-old Kristina - will be accompanied to the event by the director of their SOS Children's Village Tapiola, Mr. Jukka Kotkavuori, and will be guests on Raikkonen's yacht during both Saturday's qualifying and Sunday's race. In addition, the children and their minder will also visit an SOS Children's Village in France.
The Finnish SOS Children's Village association was founded in 1962 and currently cares for 150 children in four SOS Children's Villages and one SOS Youth House. A fifth village in Finland will be ready in the autumn in the town of Kaarina.
