HLPF 2024: Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty
This year’s HLPF theme will focus on "Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient, and innovative solutions.” The forum will review several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in-depth, including No Poverty (SDG 1), Zero Hunger (SDG 2), Climate Action (SDG 13), Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17). The multi-stakeholder partnership YouthCan! Is a good example of SDG 17 put in practice, and how this key SDG is instrumental in achieving others, such as SDG 8 or SDG 10.
Programme
The hybrid side-event “Partnerships that work”, co-sponsored by the Permanent Mission of Germany to the UN, DHL Group and the ILO will mark the launch of the YouthCan! Facts and Figures report during a panel discussion, where young people, DHL Group, experts, and SOS Children’s Villages will exchange on how multi-stakeholder partnerships can contribute to youth skills and the SDGs. Additionally, throughout the week, the delegation will engage in bilateral meetings with key stakeholders, will participate in various sessions of HLPF, and will join World Youth Skills Day.
