YouthCan!
– November 7 2022
The YouthLinks Community platform is celebrating its first anniversary with the perfect gift: success!
In early October 2022, the platform had already reached the mark of the first 1,000 registered users. It keeps growing quickly!
YouthLinks Community
The YouthLinks Community is the central online platform for young people accompanied by SOS Children’s Villages worldwide. The digital tool has been developed under the umbrella of the global YouthCan! project due to increasing demands for a professionalized, safe online platform to connect with young people during challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Project progress
Piloted in 8 countries between October 2021 and March 2022, the project has been rolled out to a steadily increasing number of countries since. The YouthLinks platform enables young people to access opportunities while transitioning into self-reliance (you can find more information here).
First results
979 users from 56 different countries have registered to the platform until the end of September 2022; out of which 54% are current or previous SOS Children's Villages programme participants. At the same time, almost 250 mentoring relationships have been established and over 12,000 message interactions took place.
