What is 'Stomping for Peace'?

It's an international, child-led campaign active in 38 countries, uniting children to literally stomp their feet and demand action to protect the rights of the children affected by violence and conflict. This symbolic action allows them to amplify their voices in a call for a safe environment to grow up in and a peaceful future.

The Purpose

The campaign emphasizes children’s demand to grow up free from violence, as violence can have lifelong effects that extend across generations. Through stomping, children are not just raising awareness but insisting on real, global change to end the cycles of violence that harm young lives.

Our Role

SOS Children’s Villages supports and amplifies these young voices worldwide, giving children the platform to express their needs, hopes, and determination for a peaceful future. We stand with them as they take a lead in advocating for their own rights and safety.

Event at the United Nations

With thousands of children participating globally, 'Stomping for Peace' had built momentum towards a powerful statement at the United Nations on the eve of International Children’s Rights Day, this year celebrating the 35th anniversary of the convention on the rights of the child.

On 19 November, children’s voices resonated on an international stage, drawing urgent attention to their right to safety and a future free from conflict.
