On February 6, multiple earthquakes hit Syria, causing thousands of deaths and injuries. Hundreds of families and children in the affected cities lost their homes. The death toll is still rising, and thousands of children have lost at least one of their parents. The freezing weather aggravates the disaster and complicates matters for rescue efforts. This new emergency, particularly in Syria, is compounding suffering in a region already devastated by 12 years of crisis. 

SOS Children’s Villages is on the ground in Syria, delivering emergency aid to children and families who have lost everything. We are assessing the most pressing needs and deploying urgent support where it is needed most. 

 Children are most vulnerable during emergencies, and we at SOS Children's Villages in Syria wish to convey to them that they are not alone. It is our responsibility and humane imperative to respond immediately, deploy all that we have, and provide assistance during such critical times. Since the catastrophe, we have been working day and night for immediate and long-termed humanitarian interventions to support the afflicted children and families; We have been organizing our efforts with our partners to alleviate suffering.
