SOS Children’s Villages believes that all children and young people have the right to grow up in a family environment. So do the 196 countries and territories around the world who signed the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child nearly 30 years ago, committing themselves to uphold this right. Yet today, an estimated 220 million children, one in ten of the world’s two billion children, are growing up without parental care or stand at risk of losing it.
