Samsung's mobile app put fundraising on Olympic-level

A partnership between Samsung and SOS Children’s Villages leveraged Samsung’s technological expertise to make a difference in the lives of children in need. Samsung, an Olympic Games Worldwide Partner, launched a free and unique mobile application (app) to help people across Europe be part of the excitement of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

This app, called the 'Samsung Hope Relay', enabled people to raise funds for SOS Children’s Villages by running, cycling and walking. For every kilometre completed, Samsung made a donation to help SOS Children’s Villages in its work for children.

The campaign ran in nine European countries and was a huge fundraising success. Even the First Lady of Estonia ran as a “Hope Relay” runner on behalf of SOS Children’s Villages!
