Empowering youth and improving their employment prospects is the objective of the international partnership between SOS Children’s Villages and Deutsche Post DHL Group.
The success of our partnership with the world‘s leading mail and logistics group is rooted in the commitment of DHL employees who volunteer their time to mentor youth aged 15-25, in 26 countries, who are taking their first steps into the job market.
DHL employees mentor youth from SOS Children’s Villages and SOS Family Strengthening Programmes, and organise a variety of tailored career development activities that deliver tangible results for the mentees.
Additionally, DHL's financial commitment contributes to ensuring that SOS Children’s Villages can continue its mission of helping children grow with love, respect and security.
Following the successes of 2014 – especially being included as a best practice in CSR development in the UN Global Compact Yearbook – 2015 brought even more positive results and recognition. In 2015, the partnership underwent a second in-depth global evaluation focused on how the partnership is working, and attended the European Development Days 2015 in Brussels.
As the partnership approaches its sixth year in 2016 from its humble beginnings as a pilot, it has reached over five times more SOS Children’s Villages countries, DP DHL employees and lives of SOS young people, helping them to thrive as adults.
