Ensure quality care

Every child has the right to quality care. As both guardians of children and advocates for children's rights, we are committed to ensuring the highest standards of care in all our programmes, and to working with governments and communities to improve alternative child care systems.

Everywhere we work, we advocate for every child's right to quality care, as set out in the Guidelines for the Alternative Care of Children and underscored by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

We strive continuously to improve the quality of our own care and capacity building services through research, collaboration and adapting innovative approaches.

As advocates, we draw on more than six decades of experience to help states reform and improve their care systems, so that the needs of children come first.
