Quality4Children Standards
Over 500 people with experience in alternative child care, including children and young people, their biological families and care persons from more than 30 European countries, contributed to the development of the Quality4Children Standards.
The Standards were launched at the European Parliament in June 2007 and are available in 27 languages.
SOS Children's Villages International developed the Quality4Children project in collaboration with the International Foster Care Organisation (IFCO) and the International Federation of Educative Communities (FICE) to share 'good practices' and make tools available to improve conditions for children and young people living in alternative care, and to ensure that their rights are fulfilled and best interests are met.
Several young people were members of the project steering group, ensuring that the Quality4Children Standards are strongly informed by young people's points of view.
The Quality4Children Standards in 27 languages are available for dowload here.
