Central Africa advances protection of children in armed conflict

August 11 2026 - Children growing up alone or in families at risk of breakdown face greater risks of recruitment, abuse and trafficking in armed conflict. A regional initiative in Central Africa aims to shift the focus from crisis response to preventing grave violations before they occur. SOS Children’s Villages contributed policy recommendations and practical insights from its work across the region to help inform the prevention strategy.

July 14 2026 - On World Youth Skills Day, the global focus is on equipping young people with the skills they need for self-development, decent work and entrepreneurship. In Liberia, where 60% of the population is under the age of 25, access to digital skills has not kept pace with young people's needs.​ SOS Children's Villages partnered with the Orange Foundation to help bridge that gap.
