SOS Children's Villages joins forces with WFP to provide relief aid for Gonaives

September 24 2004 - Port au Prince, Haiti (24 September 2004) - SOS Children's Villages will assist the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in providing humanitarian relief aid to the northern Haitian city of Gonaives, which was devastated by heavy flooding following tropical storm Jeanne. As a result of the natural catastrophe, more than 1,000 people are currently reported dead, hundreds are missing and thousands are in desperate need of food, water and medication.

Children's Triumph at the SOS Children's Villages "Samba Soccer Charity"

September 7 2004 - 07/09/2004 - Former football stars from Brazil and Germany drew 1-1 at the "Samba Soccer Charity" in aid of SOS Children's Villages on Monday. Overall, the "Samba Soccer Charity" raised 200,000 Euros in donations.

The "Champions Night" charity football match, Germany vs. Brazil

August 13 2004 - 13/08/2004 - SOS Children's Villages, the official charity partner of world football's governing body FIFA, will stage a charity football match between former Brazilian and German football stars at the "Zentralstadion" in Leipzig, Germany, on 6 September 2004. All proceeds from the match will go to SOS Children's Villages.
